Víctor Alberto Giorgi Gómez is a psychologist and academic coordinator of the master's program in Children's Rights and Public Policy at the Universidad de la República (Uruguay), where he served two terms as dean of the Faculty of Psychology. He chaired the Uruguayan Institute for Children and Adolescents (2005–2009) and was Director General of the Inter-American Children's Institute (IIN-OAS) from 2015 to 2023; since 2024 he has been its Director Emeritus and Permanent Advisor. In 2023 he received the “Dr. Fraser Mustard” Medal of Merit for Early Childhood.
