About
María Julia Garcete Yegros is a social worker from the Universidad Nacional de Asunción and holds a master's in Scientific Research Methodology. Her work focuses on the rights of children and adolescents, public policy and, since 2010, early childhood. For ten years she coordinated the National Early Childhood Team, which drew up Paraguay's National Plan for Comprehensive Early Childhood Development, as head of the Department of Comprehensive Child Development at the Ministry of Children and Adolescents. Since July 2023 she has been Director General of the Inter-American Children's Institute of the OAS, based in Montevideo.
