José Miguel de Angulo is a physician and a graduate of the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health, which gave him its Knowledge for the World Award in 2011. With his wife he leads MAP International in Bolivia and the foundation Una Brisa de Esperanza, devoted to community health and to preventing sexual violence against children and adolescents.
